Mountain Eruption Monitoring

Indonesia is located in a unique area. It has more than 13.000 islands spread over the nation and located in the ring of fire. Because of it Indonesia also has a high number of volcanoes, 141 volcanoes, the highest in the world. Among the volcanoes present in Indonesia, many are active volcanoes. Total of 1.171 eruptions has been recorded to date causing fatalities, damage to arable land, mudflows, tsunamis, and pyroclastic flows. There are two most devastating volcanic eruption that had been recorded in the past: Mount Tambora and Mount Krakatau. It had killed thousand of people and many had forced to evacuated and suffered during the process.
With technology, such devastating costs could be minimalized. Mitratel has been developing a system that remote-monitor Volcano Activity periodically. Using Mountain Eruption Monitoring, every time abnormality occurs in the volcano will be tracked promptly. Hence the decision could be made better and faster. The implementation will use IoT sensors such as temperature sensors, CO2 sensors, wind speed and direction sensors, rainfall sensors, and CCTV.
