Implementation of Sustainability Governance
Mitratel fully recognizes the importance of sustainability principles in developing and strengthening the Company’s mission. By focusing on sustainability principles, Mitratel is able to achieve a balance between the Company’s business strategy, shareholder objectives, ethical obligations to other stakeholders and society as a whole, while also ensuring the long-term stability and continuity of its business.
As a follow-up to the implementation of sustainability principles, Mitratel has developed a sustainability policy to serve as a reference and guide for the application of sustainability initiatives in its operational areas or distribution and sale areas for its products and services. The sustainability policy also serves as the basis for business activities and investments that align with Mitratel’s sustainability commitments and serves as a guide for Mitratel’s interactions with its various stakeholders.
The development of the Company’s sustainability policy involves management and various functions within Mitratel, guided by independent sustainability experts. The sustainability policy, in its formulation, takes into account the applicable social and environmental responsibility principles such as ISO 26000 Guidance on Social Responsibility, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, SDGs, and AA1000 Stakeholder Engagement Standard (SES).
Mitratel Sustainability Pillars
Mitratel’s sustainability pillars are formulated by referring to PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk’s sustainability pillars and are tailored to the Company’s business characteristics. Therefore, Mitratel’s sustainability pillars are translated into the following three aspects:
- Right Governance
Implementing and enhancing the Company’s governance system, quality of human rights fulfillment, and business ethics that are in line with applicable regulations and ESG initiatives. - Right EnvironmentalManaging the Company’s environmental impact by considering cost and value-added aspects.
- Right Communication (Social)
Actively improving stakeholder understanding and implementation of ESG.
Sustainability Roadmap
Mitratel has developed a Sustainability Roadmap to achieve its sustainability policy goals. The roadmap is divided into three phases. In the first phase (2022-2024), Mitratel aims to strengthen its organizational governance by evaluating and adjusting its internal structure and policies. The Company will also reinforce sustainable business practices and report its performance to stakeholders. Mitratel will prepare initiatives for the next phase, develop, implement, and refine strategies to enhance employee productivity. Additionally, the Company is committed to considering the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) impacts, risks, and opportunities in all aspects of its operations.
The second phase will commence once Mitratel has implemented its sustainability framework. The Company will monitor the outcomes and develop action plans based on its sustainability strategy.
In the third and final phase, Mitratel will have established sustainable business practices aligned with ESG aspects. The Company will evaluate its applied sustainability strategies and aim to execute business practices consistently. The primary focus of this phase will be to implement and evaluate the Sustainability Roadmap. The Sustainability Roadmap is a flexible document that can be adapted to changing situations without changing the entire document.
