Mitratel demonstrates its commitment to giving significant action in reducing plastic waste usage within the workplace. This is exemplified through the latest program called Go Tumbler No Plastic, a movement to reduce the consumption of plastic-packaged drinks.
President Director Herlan Wijanarko, alongside with the entire Board of Directors, officially launched the use of tumblers, marking the beginning of this implementation within Mitratel. The launch was carried out at the same time as the routine Tuesday morning healthy walking event, aligning with the implementation of the Fast Forward Cultural Fan.
In his speech, Herlan stated that according to internal company estimations, Mitratel can produce approximately 80 tons of plastic waste annually. Through the Go Tumbler No Plastic movement, all employees are encouraged to collaborate in environmental conservation efforts by substituting plastic bottled with reusable tumblers.
“We are committed to reducing plastic waste usage starting from our workplace. Thereupon, starting today, all employees must use reusable tumblers as a substitute for plastic beverage bottles,” said Herlan.
The launch of tumbler usage incorporated a commitment-writing event involving all employees as a significant action, indicating their genuine support for the company’s Go Green program. The directors symbolically discarded plastic drink waste and lifted the tumblers together.
The Go Tumbler No Plastic program is one of Mitratel’s campaigns in 2019. Later, all Mitratel employees throughout Indonesia will receive tumblers with their names engraved on them.
“We hope that by early July, all employees throughout Indonesia will shift to using Mitratel tumblers,” concluded Herlan.
