Jakarta– PT Dayamitra Telekomunikasi Tbk (Mitratel) has once again demonstrated its commitment to the principles of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) by distributing aid in the form of 63 Braille copies of the Al-Quran worth IDR 144.6 million to people with sensory disabilities who are blind in collaboration with the National Alms Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BAZNAS RI).
The symbolic handover of the Braille Qur’an was carried out by the President Director of Mitratel to the Director of BAZNAS RI in Jakarta on Friday (11/4/2025).
Theodorus Ardi Hartoko said that this activity is part of the Mitratel Berbagi program including the participation of all Mitratel employees. The assistance of the Braille Al-Quran mushaf is a form of support for groups with disabilities so that they can obtain equal access in carrying out religious activities, especially reading and understanding the holy book of the Al-Quran.
In addition, this activity is also in line with the social pillar in Mitratel’s sustainability strategy, which focuses on increasing access, empowerment, and equality for all levels of society.
“Through this initiative, we want to ensure that technological progress and development can be enjoyed by all groups, including people with disabilities. Inclusivity is an important part of Mitratel’s ESG commitment,” said Theodorus Ardi Hartoko
With this collaboration, Mitratel hopes to reach more beneficiaries and provide a real impact in improving the quality of life of the community as a whole.
Eka Budi Sulistyo, Director of Empowerment, Services, UPZ and CSR BAZNAS expressed his appreciation to Mitratel for the support provided in the form of Braille Al-Quran to the blind.
The distribution of this aid is a form of concern from BAZNAS RI and Mitratel for people with visual sensory disabilities, by ensuring that they have equal opportunities to read and understand religious teachings.
“BAZNAS welcomes this initiative and is ready to distribute the aid to the blind in various regions. Hopefully this cooperation can continue to grow in the future,” said Eka Budi Sulistyo.
This is not the first time that Mitratel and BAZNAS have collaborated. On the occasion of Eid al-Adha 1445 H last year, Mitratel distributed 100 sacrificial goats to the community in 36 sub-districts in the outermost regions of Indonesia. The implementation of the program received full support from BAZNAS, especially in the procurement of goats and their distribution.
This activity is a form of Mitratel’s concern for all stakeholders and it is hoped that through this activity, the relationship between Mitratel and the community will be further strengthened, especially in the outermost regions of Indonesia, in line with Mitratel’s operational areas and the distribution of Mitratel’s production equipment, which are located throughout Indonesia, from Sabang to Merauke, from urban areas to the outermost regions.
