JAKARTA – PT Dayamitra Telekomunikasi Tbk (Mitratel) launched a sports movement while donating called Mitratel MOVES “Make you Move, Life is More Meaningful”. The launch was held at Gelora Bung Karno Jakarta, led by Theodorus Ardi Hartoko (Teddy), Main Director of Mitratel and attended by all Mitratel employees in Jakarta as well as representatives from all Area Offices.
This movement is designed to encourage all Mitratel employees to be more active in exercising. More than just promoting a healthy lifestyle, the Company will budget a donation of 1 (one) rupiah for every 1 (one) employee step recorded in MOVES. Donations resulting from the conversion to rupiah will be channeled to support programs in the fields of environmental conservation, educational development and health improvement.
MOVES was born as a form of solution and healthy living campaign from Mitratel management regarding the fact that Indonesia is the country with the lowest average number of people walking in the world according to research conducted by researchers at Stanford University in the Nature Science journal.
“This movement, which has the theme MOVES ‘Make You Move, Make Life More Meaningful’, not only motivates employees to exercise, but also involves workers in donating. “Our employees not only live healthy and strong lives but are also happy in the afterlife,” said Teddy.
Teddy added, apart from the social impact in the form of donations, MOVES also has an impact on reducing carbon emissions because this movement also motivates employees to go to and from work using public transport while walking to the bus stop or train station.
On the company side, it is hoped that there will be an increase in productivity. Apart from that, by exercising diligently, employees will be healthier and fitter so that the health budget can be used more optimally and under control. Mitratel is a pleasant place to work because it provides space for its workers to implement the principle of work-life balance with high social awareness.
On the same occasion, Chef and healthy living activist Martin Praja emphasized the importance of staying active and shared tips for people who are just starting to live a more active life. “Walking is a very easy exercise, but it has many benefits, it helps maintain body weight, increases muscle strength and maintains heart health. To be motivated and consistently stay active, set a daily step target, for example 10,000 steps a day. So, the launch of the MOVES application is certainly very good news, because it will make it much easier for friends to monitor daily targets. Moreover, there is a commitment from Mitratel to donate the funds collected from each step, this will definitely make you even more enthusiastic!” concluded Martin.
Before being officially launched, this movement had been tested since August 2024. Employees were very enthusiastic because they had a high sense of connection and pride. In principle, the more often you exercise, the greater the donation value.
“MOVES is an application developed to monitor the achievement of the number of steps that can be accessed by all employees. There is various information in it, including individual achievements, units and standings features. All people and units will compete to be the best. “This is what we call competing in virtue with a health bonus,” said Teddy.
