
Jakarta, March 30, 2022 – PT. Dayamitra Telekomunikasi Tbk. or Mitratel signed a cooperation agreement on the design process, implementation and operation and maintenance of the fiber optic network with PT. Telkom Akses. Telkom Akses is a subsidiary of Telkom which is engaged in the construction and management of fiber optic network infrastructure services. The signing was carried out by the Main Director of Mitratel Theodorus A. Hartoko with the Main Director of Telkom Akses | Ketut Budi Utama on March 30 2022. This signing was carried out as an effort to strengthen Mitratel as a tower provider that has a new diversified portfolio, namely tower fiberization which is in accordance with the needs of mobile network operators (MNO) to make Mitratel a digital infrastructure company (InfraCo) as well as independent fiber lease provider (FLP). In his speech, the President Director of Telkom Akses expressed his readiness to provide the best support for Mitratel with the expertise and capabilities that Telkom Akses has. Through synergy with PT Telkom Akses which already has the portfolio and capability in deploying and operating the largest fiber optic network in Indonesia prepared for the Telkom Group, Mitratel is very confident that this will have a positive impact in accelerating the go-to-market of Mitratel’s fiber optic network portfolio. Through this collaboration, Mitratel will optimize the synergy of infrastructure strength and Telkom Group’s very complete competencies including Digital Connectivity, Digital Platform and Digital Services. This collaboration with Telkom Akses will not only accelerate the fiber optic network deployment process but also optimize all resources owned by Telkom Akses, especially integrated planning tools and experienced fiber optic technicians. “Of course, the signing of this cooperation agreement further strengthens Mitratel’s steps in developing its fiberization portfolio, which is part of Mitratel’s readiness as a leading digital infrastructure provider to encourage the growth of the digital economy in Indonesia. “Strengthening the fiber portfolio will also further strengthen Mitratel’s business fundamentals in the future because it will become Mitratel’s new revenue engine generator in optimizing Mitratel’s value in the market,” said Mitratel President Director Theodorus A. Hartoko. The President Director of Mitratel explained that the signed cooperation agreement is expected to encourage Mitratel to become one of the largest fiber optic network providers for mobile telecommunications operators in Indonesia. As is known, at the end of December 2021 a total of 11,851 towers out of a total of more than 28,206 Mitratel towers had been connected to the fiber optic network and currently construction of an additional 6,000 KM of new networks is underway in 5 provinces which will further accelerate meeting the needs of telecommunications operators to implement 5G in Indonesia.
