
Jakarta, December 2, 2022 – PT Dayamitra Telekomunikasi Tbk., commonly known as Mitratel, continues to be committed to supporting research and technology development to increase the digitalization of telecommunications infrastructure in Indonesia. To support the steps referred to, Mitratel is collaborating with Telkom University which is believed to accelerate the development of the telecommunications industry towards the vision of Indonesia 2045.
The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Mitratel and Telkom University was carried out on December 2, 2022, on the sidelines of the Senate Open Session for the Graduation of Masters, Bachelors, Applied Bachelors and Associate Expert Programs at Telkom University Period 1 of the 2022 Academic Year/2023. Present at the event were the President Director of PT Dayamitra Telekomunikasi Tbk Theodorus Ardi Hartoko and the Chancellor of Telkom University Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya. S.Sc., M.Sc.
Theodorus Ardi Hartoko or familiarly known as Teddy said that the signing of the Mitratel collaboration with Telkom University was a serious effort by Mitratel to develop the digitalization of telecommunications infrastructure and support the education system and research and technology development. Mitratel as the largest tower provider in Southeast Asia continues to be committed to contributing to the acceleration of Indonesia’s digitalization. Currently, Mitratel has more than 35,000 telecommunications towers spread throughout Indonesia and has been utilized by all telecommunications operators.
The form of collaboration between Mitratel and Telkom University includes research in the field of Design & Prototyping which includes New Smart Pole, Design Pole in IKN, Magnetic Infinity Power Generator, Water Fuel Power Generator, and Infinity life battery bank. Apart from that, cooperation in the field of implementation such as IoT applications (environmental control), Edge Computing-based applications (smart campus services), and non-steel tower material applications.
“We hope that this collaboration will have a positive impact not only on our business lines, but also on the future education system for the digitalization of the telecommunications industry in Indonesia,” said Teddy in a written statement in Jakarta.
This support from Mitratel was welcomed positively by the Chancellor of Telkom University, Prof. Adiwijaya. He said that the form of support provided by Mitratel will have a positive impact on the University with systems and facilities, as well as resources that are ready to be optimized for digital business and the telecommunications industry.
“We positively welcome this collaboration and are confident that collaboration with this University will produce new, superior seeds from Telkom University that can support the acceleration of digital transformation in the telecommunications industry in Indonesia,” he said.
This memorandum of understanding is to create mutually beneficial cooperation for both Mitratel and Telkom University. In order to run an infrastructure business, Mitratel as a digital telecommunications infrastructure provider company requires research to improve products and services and optimize resources so that it can continue to grow and develop.
Teddy added, in the future Mitratel is committed to continuing to expand cooperation with universities in Indonesia to accelerate the improvement of domestic human resources. This will have a positive impact on Indonesia’s efforts to develop human resources so that it is on par with developed countries in the world.”
