Jakarta, 27 September 2021 – President Director of PT Dayamitra Telekomunikasi (Mitratel), Theodorus Ardi Hartoko was awarded the Satyalancana Pembangunan honor by the Ministry of Communication and Information at the 76th Post and Telecommunications (Postel) Bhakti Day ceremony. The awarding of the Satyalancana Pembangunan honorary mark to Theodorus Ardi Hartoko was carried out directly by the Minister of Communication and Information, Johnny G. Plate, who represented the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo. This decoration was placed on the grounds of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology’s head office, Monday (27/9/2021). Theodorus Ardi Hartoko has been considered successful in initiating and building the Border Base Transceiver Station (BTS) program in remote, outermost and disadvantaged areas (3T) since 2011. Through Mitratel, which is part of the Telkom Group, Theodorus Ardi Hartoko played a major role in the construction of 516 towers telecommunications and 60 backbone transmission towers, especially in Papua and Natuna. Mitratel President Director Theodorus Ardi Hartoko said that the Satyalancana Pembangunan award was a tribute to the company’s contribution to the development of telecommunications services throughout Indonesia, especially in the 3T area. “We are grateful to all parties involved so that development can be carried out well even though there are many obstacles along the way. “In the future, we hope that this appreciation can provide new energy and innovation to continue working and increasingly be able to provide positive work that can be felt by all levels of society to make Indonesia even better,” said Theodorus. This development program is to connect regions to accommodate telecommunications connectivity in meeting the community’s need to access telecommunications and data services fairly, equally and sovereignly in the territory of the Republic of Indonesia. The provision of BTS in telecommunications blank spot areas is one of the Universal Service Obligation (USO) programs implemented by the Ministry of Communication and Information through the Telecommunications and Information Accessibility Agency (BAKTI). This program is a strategy to reduce the telecommunications gap by providing basic cellular telephone services in areas that do not yet have a signal. This is in line with the Nawacita Program launched by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, especially point 3, namely developing Indonesia from the periphery by fostering regions and villages within the framework of the Republic of Indonesia. To date, BAKTI has built 1,682 locations spread across various regions in Indonesia, especially 3T areas. Mitratel then took a role by participating in public auctions from BAKTI through the Government Goods/Services Procurement Policy Institute (LKPP) since 2011. Mitratel played a role in building more than 3096 telecommunications towers that have been built by BAKTI to date. Mitratel has built 516 Border BTS sites throughout Indonesia, where the largest number of sites worked on by the company are sites in the Maluku and Papua regions, namely 364 sites or 7096 of all sites that have been built by Mitratel. Apart from its strategic role in Border BTS, Mitratel also plays a role in the construction of 60 backbone transmission towers, especially in Papua and Natuna.
