
The signing of the above agreements is part of accelerating the digital ecosystem to support Indonesia’s digital economic growth
Jakarta, 15 February 2023 – PT Dayamitra Telekomunikasi, Tbk. (Mitratel) and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) entered into a sale and leaseback agreement for 997 telecommunication towers for the next 10 years. This action is an important step for Mitratel to strengthen its dominance in tower ownership in Southeast Asia. With the additional 997 towers resulting from this acquisition, Mitratel’s towers will be more than 36 thousand.
Chief Executive Officer of Mitratel, Theodorus Ardi Hartoko said, “We are pleased to be able to collaborate with IOH and strengthen our position as the largest telecommunications tower owner in Southeast Asia. The addition of 997 telecommunication towers will ultimately strengthen our ecosystem in the tower business and create greater value for all telecommunication operators who will expand their services and is a form of our commitment to continue to contribute to the growth of Indonesia’s digital economy.”
This transaction is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2023. In the future Mitratel and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison will continue to work together and collaborate in strengthening and expanding digital services in Indonesia.
